My love for art began as a young child growing up in Central Washington's Yakima Valley, where my supportive family allowed me to explore the outdoors and encouraged me to follow my dreams of creating and traveling to far off destinations. My desire to seek out new inspirations for beauty grew at Gonzaga University where I studied art and spent my junior year abroad in Paris, France and Florence, Italy. In order to continute growing as an artist, I recently began working towards my Masters in Painting through the Academy of Art's online masters program.
My paintings, which can also be viewed in various Bend locations, (see Classes & Events), aim to reflect the beauty that surrrounds me here in the Northwest with influences from my travels to the Carribean Islands, Australia, Baja, Hawaii, Panama, Europe and Canada, adding my own twists of drips, swirls, and varying line. Currently living in Bend, Oregon, I teach art at Cascade Middle School and am a resident artist at Poethouse Art. When I am not painting, I spend my time hiking, biking, snowboarding, surfing, traveling, learning new languages and exploring new places.
